World Sport Chicago and Friends of Track and Field are delighed to announce the second season of Mayor Daley's Summer Track Program! Last year over 300 children representing almost 20 aldermanic wards - including the 24th Ward - practiced both track and field events and competed throughout the summer in four city-wide meets. The mission of the Juvenile Intervention support Center is to provide intervention and prevention services to help youth become successful members of society, while reducing the levels and seriousness of juvenile crime and juvenile recidivism.  The objectives of JISC are: 

• Intervene in the lives of at-risk youth and less serious, non-violent juvenile arrestees, using the principles of balanced and restorative justice, in order to prevent future offenses.
• Improve the juvenile justice system's intake process of chronic, serious, and violent juvenile offenders.
• Create a single point of entry for children in, or at risk of entering the juvenile justice system.
• Provide access to an immediate and comprehensive risk assessment in a community-based setting for youth brought to the center.
• Develop an  information system that shares relevant case management data between governmental agencies.
• Provide an effective and efficient integrated case management system that features treatment plans, referrals, the monitoring of service deliveries and reassessment.
• Introduce graduated sanctions and treatment alternatives that include prevention, immediate intervention, immediate sanctions and community-based corrections.
